Experience Built on the Water
Captain Daniel Medina was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where his passion for boating and saltwater began. He started his professional career guiding inshore waters throughout Biscayne Bay, Flamingo, and the Florida Keys, developing extensive knowledge of South Florida's waterways and the conditions that come with them.
In 2012, Captain Daniel relocated to the Cape Coral area and began working for TowBoatUS, where he spent 5½ years as both a professional captain and fleet mechanic. This experience provided him with extensive hands-on knowledge of vessel operation, mechanical systems, navigation, emergency situations, and the unique challenges boaters encounter throughout Southwest Florida.
Captain Daniel also attended school to become a marine mechanic, expanding his knowledge beyond operating boats to understanding the mechanical and electrical systems that keep boats operating safely and reliably.
Since 2015, Captain Daniel has been a full-time professional captain specializing in the waters of Southwest Florida, with extensive experience throughout the inshore, nearshore, and offshore waters of the region.
He holds a United States Coast Guard 100-Ton Master Captain's License with a commercial towing endorsement.

Captain Daniel's approach to instruction comes from decades of real-world experience on the water. His background as a captain, fishing guide, marine mechanic, and towing professional gives him a unique understanding of both the vessel and the environment in which it operates.
